Having never been pregnant, I can’t always relate to the ups and down an expectant Mother goes through as her body changes throughout a pregnancy.
I am a woman though and know all about how it feels when you don’t think you look your best.

Sarah, now at the end of her pregnancy as she approaches her 36th week, often says how uncomfortable she feels,
how tired she is, how she misses seeing her feet etc…
As much as I can try to understand that, and having known her since Middle School;
I can honestly say – both with this baby & with Harper – she is the epitome of beauty while pregnant!

I’ve had a number of requests for {ooh la la!} style maternity images
and convinced Sarah since this might be her last pregnancy (I hope not though!!!) that she should remember
how her body changed and just how gorgeous she was during this time!

I am so glad we did this!

This is going to make an amazing before shot in a future “before and after” =)

Harper kept asking if Sarah was in her bathing suit and if we were going to the pool -
so she decided she should also be in her bathing suit!

Parker is a quick mover these days, but I think he is already proving he is going to be a great big brother!

I am so excited to find out if baby G is a boy or a girl and to meet them!

Of course as exciting as their maternity session was, the newborn session is really what “it’s all about!”
Cruz was so sweet during his session and was happy as a clam as long as he was wrapped up =)

This session has been a LONG time in the works…
For years, really.

Long before we were officially waiting on Addison’s {arrival!}
Holly and I would talk longingly about babies, pregnancy and how we hoped we would
each have a turn on the ride to becoming a Mother.
I can still remember that evening a few nights before Christmas
when across my cell phone came a text image of a positive pregnancy test…
It had finally happened and it couldn’t be to a better couple!!

Addison gave us quite a scare last week when she tempted fate and (my calendar) by threatening to arrive early,
but thankfully she decided to nestle in for the last few weeks and our time today went off without a hitch!

We actually had a two part session today – one early this morning outdoors and
one this afternoon at an amazing location in Durham called The Cotton Room!
Lisa was an absolute pleasure to work with – quick replies to emails and very organized!
This location was truly a DREAM to shoot in -
Phenomenal architecture, phenomenal light and of course my gorgeous couple!

Could not leave out a few from our DREAMY morning light session!

Holly and Philip – You both bring so much joy to so many lives and I am thrilled to be documenting this time foryour family!
I cannot wait to see it grow over the years -

We had the most lovely light that evening…

 but little did I know, I was about to FAINT!!!
Thank goodness Maeghan is also a nurse and stayed calm and collected
while I layed down with my feet up in the air – LOL!!

People walking by must have thought
“geez, look at this lady laying on the ground while a 8+ month pregnant woman fans her!!”

Thankfully all this happened at the END of our session and all of their lovely images were already safe and sound in my camera!

Fortunately, there was no such excitement for Hudson’s {arrived!} session!

What a complete and total charmer this little big boy is!
He slept from the time they arrived until the time they left,
apart from a few little squeaks!

I am seriously, totally smitten by this cute boy!!

Thank you so much Maeghan for both allowing me into amazing time in your lives and also for taking care of me when I was “down” =)

We have had no shortage of hot and humid sessions lately but my evening with Chad & Aubrey
may be right up at the top of the list of crazy hot…

However, with the triple H’s (hazy, hot & humid) came along a couple who made me laugh + smile nearly non-stop for the entire session. 
A couple who are so clearly in love not only with one another, but also their sweet Tessa who is due to {arrive!} at the end of the month…

{sigh….} Tessa – what a perfect name for a beautiful baby girl on the way…

A few weeks ago, I spent a lovely morning at the Raleigh Little Theatre with Lindsay & Troy.
It wouldn’t be long before their sweet boy would {arrive!} and I was thrilled to capture the anticipation for them!

Well this afternoon, I was blessed to once again spend some time with them,
but the difference today…?
Cael is on the outside now!

At 8 days and about 10lbs, he is a BIG BOY already!
He wasn’t thrilled about the whole sleepy time thing at first,
but once he was all wrapped up he would quickly drift off to dream land!

 ”Cael” is an Irish name, so I thought I’d pull out this sweet hat =)

 Thank you Lindsay & Troy for allowing me to capture these moments for you!
It has been an absolute joy getting to know you!

We **almost** left to go elsewhere, but decided to at least get a few shots while we were there.
Little by little the drones of people thinned and we were left almost alone there.

It was a photographer’s heaven =)

Jen & Keith are an absolute blast to be with – and you can clearly feel the love between them!
(Keith, the camera catches everything (LOL))!

They are only about a month away from having TWO babies =)
Yes, TWINS!

I cannot wait to meet them in June!!

Actually, I even remember making a set of note cards for Kameron & Melissa when they got engaged
and suggested the photographer they ended up using for their wedding!

So what a pleasure it was last night to actually spend some time getting to know them
as we celebrated the upcoming arrival of their sweet baby girl who I cannot wait to meet!
(plus she is due to arrive on my birthday!!!)

We were blessed with a warm, non-humid, gorgeous, light filled evening!
Perfect for this beautiful couple =)
