It’s hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that this amazing little girl is two and half already!
In my head, I think a part of her will always be the happy baby on the teal truck with the red shoes
that has become our “flagship” image here at EBP.

That being said – she is a vibrant, funny, sassy, happy girl who Mike and I are proud to call our God Daughter.

Soon she is going to be a big sister and I know she is going to be the perfect role model!

Hugs for her brother or sister (it’s a surprise, much to my chagrin!)

What two and half year old wouldn’t love a zebra, pink and black petticoat for dress up?

Her Easter dress from this year that she loves!

A new favorite of mine that will be certainly hanging on our wall soon =)

This dress was actually made years ago for the flower girl for her Mom & Dad’s wedding and now fits her!
She was trying out the perfect pose for me here!
We laughed so hard because she looks like she could be making her First Holy Communion!!!

This is SO SO Harper to me….

I had absolutely no doubt that Libby would be a breathtaking baby!
She has great genes.
Her Momma is one of my sweetest friends and is one of the most beautiful women I know – both inside + out.
Beth has a heart that is so big and a smile to match it.
The love that pours out of her is just all encompassing and I am so blessed to be a recipient of it!

Beth and her beautiful family are no stranger to my camera.
We’ve done a maternity Session, a newborn Session + growing up sessions with Warren.
Personal images from an amazing vacation with her and two other girlfriends grace my hard drive waiting to be worked on
and this is currently my desktop image too!
In fact, they are even front + center on my website’s splash page.

So after all of that…. I knew I shouldn’t be surprised to fall in love with Libby within mere moments of meeting her.
She was so sweet for me for her session.
She slept and slept and slept and slept some more.

She is delicate and perfect and as beautiful as her Mom already!
I can’t wait to watch her grow up to be just a lovely a person!

Kindness

OVERHWHELMED!

As most of you know, I work – A LOT!
Between my full time job as a photographer, my full time job as an ER Nurse and of course, my full time “life” as a wife and family member;
it doesn’t leave a lot of hours in the days, weeks or months for much else.

After my shoot this morning, I headed over to the mall to do some errands and holiday shopping
and felt a little overwhelmed at all I still need to get done.
I felt overwhelmed by all the people, the sales, the music and a few other things too.

I sat down to eat a quick lunch and my mind wandered… quite a ways off too which isn’t always a good thing.
It visited thoughts of my family, my patients, my ever growing “to-do” list, infertility, friendships, envy…
I could keep going, but I won’t bore you with all those details.

I left the mall feeling sad. Not over anything in particular, just a general feeling.
I turned the radio off in the car and tried to enjoy a quiet ride home with a nice big Diet Dr Pepper (my favorite)
and pulled up to the house to find a few packages waiting at my door.

It’s amazing how a friend just knows when a perfect day to be kind is.

Tarek, Kelley and Aliyah left me the SWEETEST gifts and I am so thankful for clients turned friends like them!

Gifts for RELAXATION and it could not have come at a better time!

The table runner that matches my china pattern – Chirp =)

So now I am at a loss for how to say thank you.
Not just for the gifts, not for the time you spent gathering, making and delivering these…

But for your overwhelming KINDNESS.

It was just what I needed today.

Coats Disease is something all parents and photographers should be aware of, but most are not!
This disease is often first detected due to a yellow discoloration of the eye in photographs!

Ten on Tuesday {all about emilee!}

It’s back!!!

Sorry, I have missed a few weeks on this!
I guess I am kind of boring because it’s harder than you would think to come up with ten weekly things that are interesting – LOL!!!

So without further adieu -

1. I am about to announce my first {in good hands} event!!
This will be a great event in Mid October that will involve photography and giving back to the community!
Stay tuned for more details!

2. I broke 400 Fans/Likes this week on facebook!
Officially, the count is now at 439 and I am hoping to be over 500 very soon!

3. I have a new URL for my facebook page… instead of all those random numbers and letters, I am officially found at:

4. I updated my “What’s in my Bag” Page! What’s that, you didn’t know I had a What’s in my Bag Page!

5. Most of you may already know this, but I am a walking injury!
I have two herniated discs and a partially impinged nerve.
No idea how this happened, but I have been in almost near constant pain since the end of April =(
I am doing PT now and hoping to see improvement, mostly I just hurt worse on my PT days though!!

6. Before I started Emilee Beth Photography as a business and was doing it just for friends, I was also making custom wedding stationery.
Together with my best friend we designed handfuls of suites of paper products for brides and brides to be!
This is a small example, just from Sarah and Adam’s Wedding (photos by the talented 35 Atlanta) …

7. This summer I was so excited to meet Ree Drummond – a.k.a. The Pioneer Woman!
If you don’t keep up with her you must be living under a rock because she is AMAZING!!!
I was fortunate to attend with some of the amazing ladies in my life!
This is a photo of us with Ree – I hijacked it from my friend Alena’s Blog!!
That’s Ree in the middle in the black top (and me just to the left of her!)

Gosh, I have some beautiful friends huh?

8. I fantasize daily about what my future studio will look like and all the amazing things it will have in it!
Does this make me loony bins?

9. I got my new busines cards!
The new cards feature four different images with my “tag line” for each type!

10. I am about to start Weight Watchers – So stay tuned for this!
A few years back I was very successful (lost 40lbs) with this program and exercising. Over the years it has slowly crept back on =(
I am going to need to be very creative with the excercise part with my back (see #5), but I know I am capable.I actually can’t believe I am putting this here, but perhaps it is what I need to stay motivated!
Will you hold me accountable?

{On Display!} Emilee Beth Photography | Cary Maternity and Newborn Photographer

So I know everyone is ready to FINALLY know what has been going on around here for the past month, right?
Well, I am so excited to share the news that I was called by an Ob/Gyn Office in Cary – Total Woman, Total Health
and was asked to display my photography in her waiting room!!!

About 3 weeks ago, Sarah and I went to meet with Dr Tahtawi to determine what she was looking for and what her space was like -
As you can see in the photos, I was ecstatic with the beautiful waiting room and gallery style walls.
Her new furniture is arriving shortly and I can’t wait to see it all put together with her touches too!

What fun I had selecting photographs to display on gorgeous canvas and large format stand outs!
Let me be the first to tell you – EVERYONE needs large prints in their home!!! They are FABULOUS!!!!

So without further delay – check it out, my first display =)

Upon entering immediately to the right – a 16×24 Canvas of Lisa which hangs above a display
of my new brochures, business cards and full sheet advertisement:

Opposite this wall and looking straight into the office is Beth in a really gorgeous triptic display (20×30)
of one of my all time favorite images. Also Evelyn is on display on the desk!

Opposite the reception desk is the waiting area (which is the space getting all new decor soon) is a gallery display
of some of my favorite images that also include Jenni and Gavin!

A little closer look at both walls: I wanted to see how everything looked hanging, but am going to be adding a {First Breath!} Display at the end of this area
and one more large format canvas by the entry way….Any favorite images that you think I should include?

So that’s it – my BIG NEWS…. this really was my Mine on Monday and Ten on Tuesday this week
because it’s been the highlight of things around here lately!!!

Bringing this back OLD SCHOOL STYLE!!
This picture hasn’t aged well, as I know you will see. The years have spotted it and discolored it, but yet it is one of my favorite family photos.

This was June 23rd, 1995 – Me and Nina had graduated high school that morning.
You can see just a glimpse of the beautiful property in Vermont that we were so blessed to live on.

I decided it’s time everyone got to know me a little better….
more than just while I have the big black box (aka the camera, that delicious D700 o’mine)… sticking off my face!
A lot of folks do a “Mine on Monday” with photos of their children and since we are sans bambinos,
I decided I am going to share some other things that are “mine”.

So for today – My Sweet Cabot.
We ”rescued” him from the Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue in January, but in many ways, I think he rescued us too.
I took this Saturday when I returned from my {in due time!} session and found him snuggled up with Michael…
Spoiled Much? I think not!

I hope from reading my blog or from knowing me personally that you know how much my family means to me. I try in the things I do to show them each and everyday how much I love them. In addition to being our niece, Michael and I have a extra special sweet spot for Riley as we were both there the night she was born. I can remember the details of that night like it was yesterday… we were at the hospital until about 530am and we were back by probably 930am the same morning. It was almost impossible to take your eyes off of her – she was such a beautiful newborn (big too at almost 10lbs!!!)…

She was just a few hours old when this was taken….

Well two years later, it is still nearly impossible to take your eyes off of her – both because she is still so beautiful and also because she is as fast as the dickens =)

You can see where she gets her good looks – Her Momma and Daddy – Holly & TedMaking a run for it with Teddy

Holly has always been beautiful, but becoming a Mom brought that out ten fold! Now my favorite Daddy-Daughter picture ever. Love this family shot

My favorite shot of the evening!

We had a wonderful evening last night for this shoot at the Duke Gardens! The wisteria on the main gazebo was so gorgeous, I just found myself staring at it for minutes at a time! We packed a picnic and had a nice dinner afterwards too! I can honestly say it felt AMAZING to get back outdoors shooting now that all the cold, wet, grey weather is behind us!

I can’t help but think back over this year and be so thankful for everyone who contributed to making Emilee Beth Photography so successful! I have met so many wonderful people and experienced so many amazing moments….

I hope you are able to enjoy this season with your loved ones. See you next year =)
