Camden is a special guy to me =)
Born to one of my best friends – his arrival was long awaited as his due date came and went.
We waited… and waited… and waited…
Finally, an induction was set and Anna handled it like a pro!
I was so blessed to be present for his delivery (those pics still to come) but for now feast your eyes on him and all his “newness”

I absolutely love doing contests – probably for one, because I NEVER win anything,
so at least it is nice to be able to be on the other side of one of life’s little treats =)

. . .

As we are approaching Mother’s Day, I have been thinking about all the amazing Mom’s that I know.
I blessed to see Mom’s in nearly every aspect of my work.

Expectant Mothers… Women in the instant they become one… And others who have had some time under their belts…

So it has me thinking…

Given these thoughts, I decided to run this contest for the Moms and Moms to Be…. Quite realistically, the hardest working people ever!

I hope from reading my blog or from knowing me personally that you know how much my family means to me. I try in the things I do to show them each and everyday how much I love them. In addition to being our niece, Michael and I have a extra special sweet spot for Riley as we were both there the night she was born. I can remember the details of that night like it was yesterday… we were at the hospital until about 530am and we were back by probably 930am the same morning. It was almost impossible to take your eyes off of her – she was such a beautiful newborn (big too at almost 10lbs!!!)…

She was just a few hours old when this was taken….

Well two years later, it is still nearly impossible to take your eyes off of her – both because she is still so beautiful and also because she is as fast as the dickens =)

Holly has always been beautiful, but becoming a Mom brought that out ten fold! Now my favorite Daddy-Daughter picture ever. Love this family shot

My favorite shot of the evening!

We had a wonderful evening last night for this shoot at the Duke Gardens! The wisteria on the main gazebo was so gorgeous, I just found myself staring at it for minutes at a time! We packed a picnic and had a nice dinner afterwards too! I can honestly say it felt AMAZING to get back outdoors shooting now that all the cold, wet, grey weather is behind us!

Nothing excites me more than being able to capture a truly remarkable event – the birth of a child.

Travis joined the world in an un-medicated birth early Tuesday morning becoming the 5th child to a pair of awesome parents – Kim & John!
It was truly a pleasure meeting them and I am looking forward to getting to know them even better!

You’ll be seeing more of Travis in the next week, but for now feast your eyes on the details of the night (and afternoon after) he was born!

Kim & John planned well for lots of activities to keep their other children happy during the wait:

Simon made a paper airplane with a message for his Mom on the inside…

which she promptly gave to Dr Alvarez from Atrium OBGYN to see if it would help move things along!

Travis didn’t quite make it by midnight on the First, he arrived a few hours into the Second day of February…

Right off the bat he has his team loyalties set up =)

It is his parents team loyalties that I am worried about, so I had to do some creative photo-shopping to this photo to “fix” John’s hat – strangely it originally had some weird NY logo on it…
We think it looks much better now =)

Congrats again Nugent Family! Looking forward to seeing you in a few days!
