It’s totally awesome to hang out with young adults who are on the brink of their independence & freedom
and tonight I just did that!

He and his sweet Mom were such champs sticking with me through all the planning and changing we went through due to bad weather,
so I raced to get his blog post done tonight as a means of a quick THANK YOU for that patience!!

You know what they say right?
Good things come to those who wait…
I think it was worth it and it paid off in the end with this AMAZINGLY gorgeous night we were blessed with!

Jonathan is graduating in just a few short weeks from Cardinal Gibbons High School with
big plans for a pre-Law Degree at Catholic University in DC.

Quite the talent he is – brains, musician AND balloon artist extraordinaire!

Thank goodness for today!
I was beginning to think the rain wasn’t going to stop and poor Danielle and I had been “rained out” three times already!

When the rain stopped and sun came out – boy did it EVER!
We were finally able to do her Senior Session tonight and we had AMAZING light!

How lucky have I been today to be surrounded by such lovely people – inside and out?!?!!!!

Danielle and I did her session in downtown Raleigh and we found a PLETHORA of awesome little nooks of color!

hard to pick a fave, but this one is way up there on my list!

Graduating! Brooke – {Raleigh/Wendell Senior Portrait Photographer}

Last week I met up with Brooke to do her Senior Pictures and we had a blast! I can’t say enough good things about Brooke -
She is super smart, fun, an amazing big sister to three siblings and she’s a Twilight lover which makes her an A+++ in my book! She is also the daughter of one of my very dearest friends, Elaine.
In addition to being my friend, Elaine is also my mentor as a nurse. She was one of the big reasons I became a nurse and was also the person who trained me as a new graduate nurse.
As much as I like to think she did a great job being my “mama duck”, she has done an even better job being a Mom… and Brooke is a true testament to that!
She was selected to be a Morehead Scholarship Candidate and is also a great Volleyball player… talk about an all around great young lady huh? Some of you may even recognize her from Vollmer Farms this year as Princess Autumn =)

Graduating! (Sam) l Raleigh Senior Portraits Photographer

I met up with Sam and her Mom today to do Sam’s Senior Portraits. She is graduating in May and has big plans for her future – I can’t wait to see her accomplish all that I know she will!

I told myself that I was going to take the night off, yet would indulge in a little peak at my SD Card to see what things looked like after the shoot… well before I knew it, I was proofing frames right off the card without even transferring them to the computer! HA!!!

I can’t choose a favorite…. So tell us what yours is – leave a comment okay? It will get Sam a free 5×7 =)

Is she G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. or what?

People always ask me after they see railroad track photos if I ever am afraid of the trains… well the answer honestly is “no”. We hear and feel it coming long before we ever see it and have plenty of time to move off the tracks. Tonight while we were out there we heard one coming and headed off down the slope to get safely away. It ended up that it was travelling on the next track over, but happened to call Sam’s name just as the train was approaching (VERY VERY VERY quickly I might add) – this was the result and WOW… I am in love with this shot!!!
