The Alexanders {family ties!} | Wake Forest + Raleigh Family Photographer

One of the things that means the most to me as a photographer are
the clients that continue to trust in me to document their changing lives.

The Alexanders are a family who have done just that – last week for the FIFTH time!

I last saw them when Payton had just {arrived!}!
It seems since then that so much has changed,
Chase is totally a KID now and all traces of the toddler I knew are gone.
Payton has grown up like a weed – sitting up, laughing, adoring her big brother!

It goes to show how important photography is.
To me, these are not just pictures -
This is a document of how lives are evolving, and growing.

Somehow it seems Mothers are rarely in photographs,
Perhaps they are always taking them.
It’s such a privilege to be able to give a Mother images like these.

Not to be outdone… Love this shot of Emil + Chase.

Gosh – where do I begin?
I guess the beginning is a good spot huh?

There’s nothing more exicting and nothing that fuels my creativity that arriving on a shoot
to find my clients piling a wagon full of cool props for their shoot!
Kim had been collecting little pieces for a while and they all came together perfectly =)

From frames, to beads, to chairs and even a chandelier – the details were planned meticulously!

So in addition to spending the evening with one of my favorite families, being creative, and laughing – A LOT,
I think we got some awesome frames too!

To me they are moments that capture the great love between all seven of the members of this family!

So you know from this, it’s obvious they are going to have gorgeous kids, right?

see, what did I tell you!

Another bad day for me and my back, but that always leads to at least one productive thing for me photography wise since it’s me and my laptop – best friends for the day!

Over the weekend, I met up with two AWESOME families. The Walls and the Wilkins.
I have been looking forward to this shoot for a while because it kept reminding me of a great day I spent last May on a photo shoot with my family like this.
Siblings, Shellie and Anthony brought their families together to get some individual and combined shots,
and I think I know a Mom/Grandma who is going to be awfully happy on Christmas Morning =)

Thankfully, they were smart time wise and booked a double session, so in honor of that – an extra long post!

First up was Shellie & Wade:

Erika {in due time!} | Wake Forest Maternity Photographer

Last week I had a wonderful {in due time!} session with Erika and her husband Jason.
The day was a gorgeous day up until about 2 hours before our session was supposed to start when these dark grey clouds came from nowhere!
We decided to stick it out and see what the weather brought us – RAIN.
It poured on us for about 25 minutes while we waited it out under big golf umbrellas in the middle of my favorite glade.
Fortunately sticking it out was precisely the right thing to do, because the rain passed and left us with some delicious early evening light!

Can’t wait to meet your sweet miss in just a few weeks!!!

Is this not the most perfect belly?

Travis {growing up!} | Wake Forest Children’s Photographer

I have been looking forward to seeing Travis again since I last saw him for his Birth Session and Arrived Session -
As always, these 6 months have just flown by!!!

We met up at a favorite location of mine – Joyner Park in Wake Forest!
We were so relieved that we had a break in the heat/humidity that has blanketed us lately too =)

His Momma sent me the link to this hat about a month before his session and I was dying to see it!
Even cuter in person than I could have imagined!!!

This was a quilt made specially for Travis!!

Love these last two images – the bokeh is drool worthy!

Travis – he’s the “little brother” to FOUR older siblings!! It was great seeing you again Kim & Travis!!!

Chase {growing up!} | Wake Forest Children’s Photographer

This is a face you might recognize… Chase is the sweetie taking up the second slide on my blog slide show up there at the top!
It was wonderful seeing him again for his two year session and as much as he is growing up so fast,
it’s amazing to see some of the little things that stay the same!

I am going to do a little comparison for this post =)

He still LOVES the iPhone!
He is still very silly!

He still has the most captivating brown eyes that just draw light in and bounce it right back at you…

But the difference - now, he is the BIG 2!

and he is a little more independent now too and ready to explore the world…

Thanks so much for having me captures these moments of Chase! I can’t wait to see what THREE will bring =)

Sisters {growing up!} | Wake Forest Family Photographer

Time is flying by in what seems like weeks at a time. I cannot believe that is has already been 3 months since we last met Claire!
She is growing so fast and is at my favorite age now – 6mos!
She was full of smiles and giggles for me and we had a great morning (albeit, a little humid) for her shoot!

Big Sister Natalie had just turned 2 so we snapped a few images of her as well.
She was in a pretty serious mood that day, but I think we still captured some adorable pensive moments =)

Loving all the early morning light lately – and I love her little scrunched up nose =)

Claire’s Turn =)

Claire’s Mom was hoping to capture some images that were similar to some she had taken of Natalie at 6mos old so I brought along my portable studio and at the end of our session we snagged these which have turned out to be some of my favorite images to date. Claire is so photogenic!

Can’t wait to see how much she will have changed in the next 3 months before we see her again for her 9mo Session!

Jackson is growing up for sure. He was my first “Baby Planner” and I have loved watching him change over his first year through my lens!

If his deep blue eyes didn’t completely melt me when we first met for his three month shoot:

I was a goner for sure for during his six month session:

So we met up last week to complete the series for his one year portraits
and you know this can only mean one thing, right?

But before we get to that, LOOK AT HOW BIG HE HAS GOTTEN!!!!
Yet, those eyes…. I would recognize them anywhere by now I think!

And we finally got some of his Mom and Dad too! Okay, Okay…. here are the ones everyone loves!
He wasted about zero seconds before totally going for it!

Thank you beyond words to the P Family for choosing me to document this year for you.
I hope my images will bring you wonderful and cherished memories as time goes by!

Last week I met Claire for the first of her 4 Sessions in our Baby Plan =) Claire is 3 months now and a total ball of sweetness and sugar! There isn’t a day I don’t love what I do and spending time with kiddos like Claire and her big sister Natalie are precisely the reason why!
It was wonderful meeting you “V” Family! I am already looking forward to seeing you again in 3 months!

What a beautiful day today was! It is finally starting to thaw after the big freeze we have been in here in NC! However, I think even if it had still been 18 degrees out, I would have melted as soon as I saw Jackson and his big blue eyes today anyway =) How awesome is it that I get to spend my days capturing these little moments of a time that will soon be gone, but because of photography, never forgotten?

The last time we saw Jackson he was only 3 months old and although he has never been a “little” baby… he was so little compared to now at 6 months! WOW! Wow! Wow! What a big boy… sitting up, smiling, laughing, and loving anything “techy” he could get his hands on!

Without further adieu…. Jackson at 6 months =)

Now don’t let all the red fool you – he is a Tarheel baby all the way =)

I love this one….
